As a nurse, you are in charge of several different patients who all have their own needs. Some may need more specialized care than others and this is hard to deal with when paperwork is not done, x-rays are lost, and you are behind on other daily tasks.  On average nurses only get to spend about 40 minutes with each patient per day. On the other hand, the daily tasks of entering data and patient information takes up about 33 percent of a nurse's time. This is why it is so important that Directors of Nurses and the hospital overall find ways to help nurses spend more time with their patients.
